Once a loved one has transitioned to a care facility no matter how amazing it is, it is still different from what they have been used to their whole lives. This is a surreal and sometimes very difficult reality for them to face.
We have found that the best way to help them transition and find some normalcy is continuing to do the small things that were routinely done prior to the move. For example, if before they moved, you visited weekly and brought a few items at their request, or you read to them weekly, or played games when you visited, then it would be a good idea to continue those things. If a spouse has recently passed and did similar things, then it would be beneficial to continue on with that routine to ensure some familiarity.
There will be times where you or other family members will not be able to make it due to work, travel, small children, relocation etc. That is where we step in to help.
